Seeking a Finger Lakes bed and breakfast can be a difficult choice. This is something Henry and Barbara Owens knew when opening Bristol Views in 2003. The Finger Lakes bed and breakfast sits on County Road 12, in Naples, overlooking Canandaigua Lake. Nestled in the Bristol Hills, located on what is known as the “high road”, Bristol Views offers all the finest comforts and amenities of other Finger Lakes lodging establishments, and then some. The recently renovated historic farmhouse holds charm and an eloquence of its own; guests can view old photographs of the building in an upstairs hallway, just like a guided tour, while antiques and cozy furniture create a fetching atmosphere.
Besides having cross country skiing packages with Bristol Mountain and Hunt Hollow Ski Club, there are also vineyards for wine tastings nearby, an outside hot tub available all year round, and full breakfasts every day. So what keeps this Finger Lakes bed and breakfast so successful? “The comforting atmosphere,” Barbara Owens says. “The friendly innkeepers,” she chuckles, “and the hearty American breakfasts.” Henry Owens, her husband agrees with all the above. “I hear guests saying all the time ‘I don’t eat like this at home’.” More reasons that contribute to their success are that they’ve been called the “Perfect romantic weekend getaway”. With four luxurious rooms, a pampering hot tub, large deck with lounging chairs, piano, and a wood burning stove, no one would argue.
And let’s not forget that spectacular view. One of the reasons they chose this spot for a Finger Lakes bed and breakfast was the spectacular view. They are just a few feet away from an overlook that attracts daily motorists on County Road 12, which got national attention on the covers of I LOVE NY as the most picturesque and photographed road in the Finger Lakes.
Tourists are not the only guests enjoying this hideaway, Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse residents are discovering the opportunities that this Finger Lakes bed and breakfast has to offer. Bristol Views is now offering rollback rates by bringing back prices from 2005 until April of 2009. This is their “thank you” and their way of celebrating their fifth anniversary.
